Goodbye for Now...

Well it was our last day of camp and it was emotional for all. We had a blast, but tears filled our eyes as we waved goodbye to our campers.

The day went as normal. The Blue and Green teams played an intense football match together. In the end the kids had fun and the win wasn’t as important. They were excited to be able to work together and accomplish a task as a team.

At the end of the day we had a fantastic closing ceremonies that treated each camper individually and specially. Each camper received a camper portrait and a medal for their participation in JASY camp. Four campers from each team were awarded separately for their outstanding behavior at camp! We hope that everyone had fun and will continue to pursue their dreams.

Madison spoke to us today about her experiences during the last day of camp, “It’s amazing to think about all the things the campers will do after JASY camp. During Caribbean games we asked the campers what jobs they want to have in the future and they were mainly all jobs of serving and helping others like being a doctor, soldier, or teacher. Its so cool to think that kids that have basically nothing have such high dreams. I just wish I could be there to see what they achieve.”

We want to take this time to thank everyone who has donated to JASY, sponsored us, prayed for us, and given us support. You all have done so much for us and these children and JASY could not have been possible without you! We all are looking forward to next year!
