JASY... We Are Blessed!

Today we had our May JASY meeting and, boy, did we get a lot done! We started the evening off with a wonderful cookout, planned and executed by Dan Traina. Thanks Dan! We had hot dogs and hamburgers as well as lots of fun sides and drinks brought by each of our volunteers. Everyone had a great time sitting with each other and fellowshiping.

We had a Zumba instructor, Melanie, come to our meeting to teach us all how to do a dance for Opening and Closing Ceremonies at camp. The dance is to the song, "I Am Blessed" and although we need some work, we all looked great and had a blast!

After we had worked up quite a sweat we all got back together to talk about our jobs at camp. All the different venues got together, as well as the group of Sports Ambassadors, to talk about what each member needed to know in order for the camp to run as smoothly as possible. This also gave us some time to get to know each other better and bond with our team!

Next we had Dave talk about some other important points for camp, as well as some goofy bloopers that had our group a little confused and laughing! Fellow JASY alums from St. John Fisher College also attended our meeting to help us make plans at camp (especially because we have not seen UTech yet!) and tell us about the importance of Teamwork and being a Role Model for these kids.

Finally, we spent the last couple of minutes getting every camper and volunteer nametag and bagtag ready. This involved cutting nametags and stuffing them in different holders. It was our first big task to work together as a team and accomplish a big task. How did we do? AWESOME!

Until next time! Walk Good!
